The sample size is still small, but early signs show a much-improved Chargers offense in 2025. That directly correlates to more fantasy football options on the team, particularly in the wide receiver room.

This week will be the toughest challenge yet as the offense faces a hard-nosed defense in the Broncos.

Let’s look through this week’s start/sit for the Chargers fantasy football options.

Start: RB Omarion Hampton

It was another quiet performance for the talented rookie in Week 2. Thankfully for him, the Broncos run defense showed its holes against Jonathan Taylor and the Colts last weekend. With that, it could be the perfect time for Hampton to break out in a big way. It may be a bit tougher for the Chargers to throw the ball in this contest, which could lead to more looks for the former North Carolina product.

Sit: WR Quentin Johnston

For the second straight week, Johnston lands on my “sit” list. It was a swing and a miss in Week 2 as he finished with 71 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, he faces one of the best cornerback rooms in the NFL in Week 3. Expect the Chargers to shy away from the perimeter a bit more in this one given the difficult matchup. For that, Johnston’s hot streak to begin the season may come to an end this weekend.

Start: WR Ladd McConkey

While it’s been somewhat of a quiet start for the second-year wideout, he still has 11 catches through two games. While he is dealing with a biceps injury, he should be able to have his best performance of the year if he does play. McConkey excels out of the slot, which happens to be the weakness of the Broncos secondary. Be patient with him, the yards and touchdowns will come.

Sit: QB Justin Herbert

If you don’t have a better option, such as a top-12 play this week, then play Herbert. On the flip side, there is an argument for putting him on the bench and that is the fact that he faces a stout pass defense in Denver. As a result, the Chargers may try and win this game on the ground. This isn’t to say Herbert will have a bad game, but the matchup isn’t exactly ideal.
