The Tennessee Titans took the field for their final practice before Sunday’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts and watched four starters sit on the sidelines with injuries. While two of those have already been ruled out in JC Latham and T’Vondre Sweat, two others, Kevin Zeitler and Jarvis Brownlee, could potentially join them, and both would be significant losses if they can’t go. 

Neither Zeitler nor Brownlee took to the practice field on Friday and are questionable. If he can’t go, Zeitler would likely be replaced by veteran Blake Hance, who took over for him during their Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The situation with Brownlee is a little less clear, and was a topic that Brian Callahan discussed during his press availability. 

Brownlee’s injury situation is complicated by the status of starting cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. Although the veteran did practice on Friday, he missed most of the week with a back injury and is questionable as well. While it is a given that Darrell Baker would start if one of the two questionable cornerbacks had to sit out, what if it were both? 

The Titans are thin at cornerback and could be forced to expand the role of rookie Marcus Harris, as well as add recent waiver acquisition, Jalyn Armour-Davis, into a rotational role. At least, that was the direction Callahan signaled while talking to the media, and if that’s the case, it sounds like Armour-Davis will be ready. 

“It’s been a smooth transition,” Armour-Davis said. “Just a blessing that God was able to put me in a building and in a situation like this, where it would be a smooth transition.”

Armour-Davis was a hot commodity on the waiver wire after the Baltimore Ravens released him during final cuts, and he has the skills to be a difference-maker if healthy. A talented corner, injuries have held him back with the Ravens. He should fit in well with the Titans and is familiar with defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson from his time in Baltimore, and that familiarity has allowed him to adapt quickly to his new surroundings.
