Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons isn’t looking ahead to next week’s trip to Dallas because he has a hunting trip scheduled for this Sunday in Cleveland.
Asked how he can focus on this week and not the primetime homecoming in Dallas in Week 4, Parsons immediately turned the conversation to his goal for Sunday: sacking Browns quarterback Joe Flacco.
“Really just getting after Flacco,” Parsons said Friday. “I kind of like the name ‘The Hunter.’ I haven’t had Flacco yet. I need him. I want him. It’s time to go get him.”
Parsons and the Packers will attempt to get to 3-0 on Sunday in Cleveland against Flacco, whom the three-time All-Pro has never sacked. Parsons has sacked 25 different quarterbacks in his career, but never Flacco, who played the Cowboys three times in his career but all three games came before Parsons was drafted.
Now 40 years old, Flacco is full on experience but lacking in mobility, making him an ideal target for one of the game’s most fearsome pass-rushers. He’s been sacked four times and has struggled under pressure to start the 2025 season.
The Packers remaining undefeated would only raise the stakes of next week’s showdown with the Cowboys, who traded Parsons to Green Bay before the start of the regular season, but the former Cowboy is staying laser focused on his next target.
“It’s about that QB right in front of me. I don’t want to look past him. I need him,” Parsons said.
Through two games with the Packers, Parsons has a solo sack of Jared Goff and a shared sack of Jayden Daniels, plus 10 total pressures.
