The 7th-ranked Florida State Seminoles are hosting the Kent State Golden Flashes in Doak Campbell Stadium today with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. The game will be televised on the ACCN.

According to FanDuel, FSU is a 44.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at 55.5 points. The heavily-favored Seminoles are expected to be in control early on in the game, and FSU coaches are hoping to give the 2nd and 3rd-team players, on both sides, most of the 2nd-half snaps. Kent State’s 18-game losing streak against AP-ranked opponents is expected to increase to 19 games today against the more talented FSU team.

The Seminoles, ranked 9th nationally in total offense, are expected to pound the ball repeatedly against the 128th-ranked defense that’s given up 176 rushing yards and 464 total yards per game. Even with Roydell Williams still out and Caziah Holmes questionable, the Seminole stable of running backs, consisting of Gavin Sawchuk, Ousmane Kromah, Zay Parks, and Jaylin Lucas, will get the early snaps, get the job done, and be able to exit early. Expectations are similar for QB Tommy Castellanos and the offensive line starters Gunner Hansen, Richie Leonard IV, Luke Petitbon, Adrian Medley, and Micah Pettus; run to set up the pass, get some quality work in, stay healthy, and get out and rest up for their ACC opener at Virginia on Friday night.

Defensively, the Seminoles should be able to shut down Kent State’s run game, making them more one-dimensional and forcing more passes against a FSU secondary that has allowed its three opponents a total of only 30 completions this season.

Other players that could be rested this game, or that may see limited action on a snap count, include wide receivers Squirrel White and Lawayne McCoy, tight end Randy Pittman Jr., defensive end James Williams, and defensive tackle Kevin Winn.
