Two AFC foes with 1-1 records meet on Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the New England Patriots at 1 p.m. ET. The Steelers began the year with an offensive outburst in a win over the New York Jets before struggling with turnovers in a Week 2 loss to the Seahawks. The Patriots, meanwhile, rebounded from a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1 by beating the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. There are plenty of big-name players on each side here, which means there are plenty of different NFL player props to be wagered on when the Patriots host the Steelers.Â
The SportsLine Inside the Lines team simulates every NFL game 10,000 times and has graded individual player props on a 0- through 5-star scale based on each player’s average across the simulations. We have also highlighted an anytime touchdown scorer prop as well as a rushing yards prop we think have value to cash on Sunday. So which player props should you be targeting for Steelers vs. Patriots as part of your NFL betting plan?
We’ll be using odds from top sportsbooks to look at our top props for this game. Check out the SportsLine Inside the Line team’s forecast for the entire Steelers-Patriots game, including more player props.
Top Steelers-Patriots player props:Aaron Rodgers Under 1.5 passing touchdown (3.5 stars)
Rodgers has five touchdown passes already this season, but four came in Week 1 against the New York Jets. Against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, Rodgers had one touchdown toss to DK Metcalf and threw two picks, including one in the end zone, in a 31-17 loss. The Patriots just gave up 27 points to the lowly Miami Dolphins, but they were much better in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The ITL model projects Rodgers for Under 1.5 touchdown passes with 1.1, as he’s gone Under this line in three of his last five games.Â
Rhamondre Stevenson Over 44.5 rushing yards (-115, BetMGM)
Whenever you’re eyeing rushing yard props, it’s important to look at opportunity. While many expected the Patriots to hand things over to second-round back TreVeyon Henderson early on, the rookie has just eight total rushes so far and saw both his rushing attempts and snap count and share dip from Week 1 to Week 2. Stevenson, meanwhile, had 11 carries for 54 yards in Week 2 after rushing just seven times in Week 1. The Steelers aren’t always the easiest team to run against, but they just allowed a 100-yard rusher in Seattle’s Kenneth Walker III. We’re not saying Stevenson will go that far, but he clearly is still the lead dog in New England’s backfield and should get enough snaps and carries to eclipse this mark in Week 3.Â
Jaylen Warren anytime touchdown scorer (-105, DraftKings)
If it wasn’t Jaylen Warren’s backfield before Week 2, it certainly is now. Warren has 25 carries on the year, with Kenneth Gainwell second at 12. Warren also has showcased great receiving ability with six catches for 108 yards, the latter of which leads the team. He also has a receiving touchdown. Gainwell is a solid backup, but rookie Kaleb Johnson was expected to compete for touches. He’s likely in the doghouse right now, though, after he misunderstood the NFL’s kickoff rules and allowed the Seahawks to get a touchdown on a kickoff in Week 2. Warren should have a lot of opportunities this week, and with the team’s lone bruising back, Johnson, unlikely to get on the field on offense, Warren should see more goal-line opportunities than he ever has.
