SALT LAKE CITY — Check back for the latest scores from all the Week 6 high school football games across the state.
KSL.com Sports’ Game of the Week: Corner Canyon at Lone Peak
Why did we choose this game?
With No. 1 Corner Canyon vs. No. 2 Lone Peak, not much needs to really be said why we chose this matchup for the game of the week.
But if you needed some convincing …
Corner Canyon is 5-0 and clearly looks like the best team in the state with several future Division I players lining the roster. But Lone Peak, who dropped one game this season already, is not to be outdone with several D-I players of their own, including the dynamic Pula twins.
The Chargers are averaging 50.2 points — blowing past opponents — while limiting teams to just 12.4 points per game. Quarterback Helaman Casuga is 15th in the country in passing yards with 1,411 yards, 16 touchdowns and no interceptions. It’s not easy to stop the Texas A&M commit.
The Knights haven’t had the same offensive firepower, but are still averaging 34.6 points per game while limiting teams to 17.4 points. Oh … and Lone Peak got the win over Corner Canyon last season over the eventual 6A champion.
Can Lone Peak do it again?
