Another big win.

The United South Central Rebel football team traveled to Hayfield on Friday night, Sept. 12, and returned home with a big 36 to 6 victory over the Vikings.

The Rebels scored two touchdowns in the first quarter, one in the second and two more in the fourth. The Vikings only score came in the first quarter.

USC scored on their first three possessions in the game.

After holding Hayfield to just three plays on their first possession, and forcing a punt, the Rebels took over and went 60 yards in seven plays.

They scored on a quarterback keeper when Kolt Bullerman ran it in from the 1-yard line. The pass attempt for the 2-point conversion failed.

After forcing another Vikings punt, the Rebels went 88 yards in just three plays for their next score.

Bullerman capped it off with an 85-yard run to the end zone. The 2-point conversion was successful with a run by Noah Gonzalez.

The Vikings scored a touchdown near the end of the first quarter, but failed on the conversion attempt. That made the score 14-6 at the end of quarter one.

The Rebels scored another touchdown early in the second quarter on a six-play, 59-yard drive.

This time it was a 30-yard scamper by Seth Kayser for the score. Gonzalez again carried the ball for the successful 2-point conversion and the Rebels were up 22-6, which was the score at the half.

Neither team scored in the third quarter.

Then in the final stanza, the Rebels got a touchdown on a 3-play, 60-yard drive. Shaune Peterson scored on a 54-yard race to the end zone.

A pass attempt for the 2-point conversion failed, but USC was now up 28-6.

The Rebels’ final score of the game came on a 5-play, 39-yard drive, that ended with a 13-yard run by Bullerman. This time the pass attempt for the 2-point conversion from Bullerman to Brayden Mithun, was successful.

Final score was 36-6.

The Rebels out-gained the Vikings 347 yards to 186. USC had 348 on the ground and a negative one yard in the air, while Hayfield had 96 rushing and 90 passing.

USC actually ran one less play than Hayfield, 47 to their 48. The time of possession was fairly close, with 24:49 for the Rebels and 23:11 for the Vikings.

Leading rusher for USC was Bullerman with 156 yards on eight carries. Peterson had 78 yards on eight totes.

Mithun added 49 yards on three carries, Gavin Bird had 36 yards on nine runs, Gonzalez carried the ball three times for 19 yards and Kayser had three totes for 14 yards.
