The NFC West might be the best division in the NFL this season with no teams primed to be particularly dreadful.

In what figures to be a tightly contested race for the top of the West, every division matchup is going to count which is why the San Francisco 49ers home opener vs. the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday feels like such a massive game even if it is only Week 3.

The 49ers are already 1-0 in the division after a Week 1 win vs. the Seattle Seahawks. For Arizona, this marks their first division matchup of the year.

Sunday’s game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. won’t determine a division winner, but it may come into play if tiebreakers ultimately decide who wears the NFC West crown when the season ends.
