The Buffalo Bills selected Virginia Tech cornerback Dorian Strong with the No. 177 (sixth round) overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Upper Marlboro, Maryland native spent five seasons with the Hokies. Strong stepped onto the scene as a true freshman in 2020, playing in 11 games and making five starts. He finished with 22 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception.
In 2021, Strong started 10 of 13 games and had 23 tackles, six passes defensed and one interception. Strong played in only four games in 2022 due to injuries but returned strong in 2023, having his best season, earning All-ACC honors, and making the Action Network’s second team All-American squad. Strong started every game for the Hokies in 2024.
So, for his career, Strong appeared in 53 games for the Hokies, mostly as a starter, and had seven career interceptions. Now, he goes to a perennial winner and has a chance to help Buffalo’s secondary.
Here’s what head coach Brent Pry said about Strong:
“Dorian is the kind of player who loves to compete in coverage,” Pry said. “He’s not only a highly skilled corner with exceptional physical traits—he’s the guy who will battle every play, contesting catches like it’s a personal challenge. He’s also a proven, reliable tackler and has a natural feel for the game with his field awareness. Dorian is a true technician that takes tremendous pride in his craft.”
Best of luck, Dorian. We are rooting for you.
