The 2025 NFL Draft concluded on Sunday afternoon and several football players with ties to the Sacramento area heard their name called over the three-day event. Oluwafemi Oladejo (Linebacker, Tennessee Titans) The first player from the area to be drafted this year, Oluwafemi Oladejo spent his high school football days in Elk Grove at Cosumnes Oaks. Oladejo played at Cal and then UCLA, recording 57 tackles and 4.5 sacks for the Bruins in 2024. The Tennessee Titans grabbed him in the second round of the draft. Omarr Norman-Lott (Defensive tackle, Kansas City Chiefs) The Kansas City Chiefs will be adding a former Grant Union Pacer to their pass rush next season. Omarr Norman-Lott was selected in the second round and played for the University of Tennessee in 2023 and 2024. The defensive lineman had 18 tackles and four sacks last season. Jackson Slater (Guard, Tennessee Titans) Jackson Slater was one of the best offensive linemen in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) during his time at Sacramento State. His name was called on day three of the draft, as the Tennessee Titans selected him in the fifth round. Slater was named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press in 2024. Teddye Buchanan (Linebacker, Baltimore Ravens) A former UC Davis Aggie will be heading to a team with one of the best defensive reputations in the NFL in the Baltimore Ravens Teddye Buchanan played three seasons at UC Davis before transferring to Cal in 2024 to finish out his college career. The Ravens selected him in fourth round. He is the first Aggie to be drafted into the NFL since 2002.
