The Cleveland Browns have pulled off the upset of the season so far in the NFL, defeating the Green Bay Packers in a 13-10 game that featured a wild finish.
After defeating a pair of 2024 playoff teams to open the season, Green Bay came into Sunday’s matchup in Cleveland with a legitimate argument for being the NFL’s best team. Just a week after a blowout loss in Baltimore sent Cleveland to 0-2, conventional wisdom said the Browns shouldn’t have had much of a chance on Sunday; clearly, that didn’t phase them, as they completed a gutsy fourth-quarter rally to make up a two-score deficit and snap an eight-game losing streak that dated back to last November.

Let’s take a look at how Browns fans are reacting to the stunning win over Green Bay.
Reactions to the ending sequence
The Browns trailed 10-0 as late as 11 minutes into the fourth quarter, when a 34-yard field goal by Andre Szmyt finally got Cleveland on the board with 3:45 remaining. From there, chaos ensued, with Browns safety Grant Delpit intercepting Packers quarterback Jordan Love just three plays into Green Bay’s following drive, which set up Quinshon Judkins’ game-tying touchdown. The Packers then drove 35 yards for a go-ahead field goal, which wound up blocked by Browns defensive tackle Shelby Harris. With just 21 seconds and no timeouts left, Cleveland’s offense managed to quickly pick up 16 yards, setting up Andre Szmyt for a 55-yard game-winning kick.
Not only was it an improbable sequence, but it was also a redemption story for Szmyt, who missed an extra point and a go-ahead field goal attempt in a one-point loss to the Bengals two weeks ago. Here’s what fans—including some high-profile ones like former Browns receiver Rashard Higgins and Canton-born NBA player CJ McCollum—had to say about Szmyt and the ending to Sunday’s game:
The defense
The Browns’ defense continued its phenomenal start to the 2025 season on Sunday. Packers running back Josh Jacobs was held to just 30 yards on 16 carries, and the pass rush brought down Jordan Love five times throughout the day. Cleveland’s rookie duo of Mason Graham and Carson Schwesinger on defense continued to flash, with Schwesinger recording ten tackles and a sack while Graham recorded a half-sack and a quarterback hit. While the Browns could certainly be better at playing complementary football, the defensive side of the ball continues to draw plenty of praise three weeks into the season.
Judkins shines, Flacco struggles on offense
It was a polarizing day for the Browns’ offense. The unit overall struggled throughout the day, which was the driving factor behind Cleveland’s late 10-0 deficit, and Joe Flacco certainly didn’t play any better today despite the win. However, Quinshon Judkins impressed in his second-ever NFL start, recording nearly 100 yards on the ground and tying the game with his first-ever NFL touchdown.

Fans didn’t hesitate to praise Judkins for his effort, but some of them still want a chance at quarterback after Sunday’s game.
