After a crushing 29-27 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that dropped the New York Jets to 0-3 for the first time since 2021, head coach Aaron Glenn stressed that, unlike the New York media, he won’t dwell on the negatives.

“The one thing I don’t do, which I understand New York media tries to do, is the negative parts of it. I’m not going to be that way; I’m going to let you guys deal with that. We’re going to look at the things we did well,” Glenn told reporters after the loss.

Glenn’s remarks came after his team fell on a game-winning field goal against Tampa Bay, despite rallying back from a three-score deficit to take the lead with under two minutes remaining.

His message was direct: the focus remains on building the foundation “piece by piece and block by block,” regardless of the outside noise.

Though Glenn dismissed the idea of “moral victories,” the Jets’ late fight and resilience offered signs of progress that can be developed moving forward.

Still, scrutiny will continue if Glenn fails to deliver the explanations the media expects after losses. Until the Jets can establish consistency in the win column, attention will remain on their struggles and Glenn’s tense postgame demeanor.

New York will again search for its first victory under Glenn on Monday night against the winless Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.

For Glenn, talk of progress means little without results. The Jets’ first win under his watch must come soon, with Monday’s divisional clash in Miami looming as a pivotal test.
