Pittsburgh Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw is no stranger to winning championships with Super Bowl-caliber coaches — which makes his opinion on HC Mike Tomlin even more impactful.

On Monday, Bradshaw shared his honest feelings on the job security of Tomlin, before quickly shifting criticism to the current state of the Steelers — arguing their days of contending under the longtime Steelers head coach are likely over.

“They’re not ever gonna fire Mike Tomlin, they’ve made the playoffs 18 years. And if he wins it, he’ll go again 19 years,” Bradshaw said via USA Today’s interview on Monday. “They don’t have the team. It takes offense, defense. Takes it all. It takes coaching. Every time they get great players and they do really well, you had Antonio Brown, you had [Le’Veon Bell] that signed with the Jets. … All these guys are on their way to the Hall of Fame playing so great for Pittsburgh, but ‘I want my money’. They don’t get their money and they’re out of there.”

Bradshaw then claimed that while Pittsburgh has always been competitive, they’re no longer a contender — and haven’t been for the past five years in his eyes.

Despite Tomlin’s impressive feat of never having a losing season, his playoff record is an abysmal 8-11 — with five straight losses since the 2017 divisional-round defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bradshaw’s lack of faith in Tomlin and the current state of the Steelers has been echoed by the masses in Pittsburgh. If Tomlin’s seat wasn’t hot over the past few disappointing seasons, there’s bound to be major changes if he can’t find postseason success with an assortment of All-Pro caliber players at his disposal.
