SMU is making an in-season addition to its group of running backs.

The Mustangs have added running back Shaadie Clayton-Johnson to their roster, an SMU spokesman confirmed to The Dallas Morning News. Clayton-Johnson joins a running back room that includes players like T.J. Harden, Chris Johnson Jr. and Derrick McFall.

Clayton-Johnson previously played at Colorado and Tulane. He also had a brief stint at North Texas, transferring out of the program after its spring practices.

Clayton-Johnson last suited up for Tulane in 2024, finishing the campaign with 34 carries for 227 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He has posted 159 carries throughout his collegiate career, rushing for 825 yards and six touchdowns.
