COVENTRY – Division I St. Raphael Academy had little trouble dispatching Division II Coventry in last Friday night’s 2025 RIIL season opener at the Walter L. Clarke Athletic Complex.

After quarterback Tashaad Brown connected with Onassis Soriano on a 98-yard scoring play following an Ayden Ocampo interception early in the fourth quarter, a running clock was all that stood between the Saints and their eventual 42-6 victory.

Despite the lopsided win, head coach Mike Sassi felt that his team still has room for improvement heading into this Saturday’s league opener at Central.

“There are some things we need to clean up before we start playing Division I teams,” he said.
