Here are the Jaguars highest and lowest graded players from PFF following the team’s Week 3 win.

Following the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 3 win over the Houston Texans, let’s take a look at which players received the highest grades from Pro Football Focus and which players didn’t.

Below is a look at PFF’s grading system for some context. While this metric is very helpful when it comes to quantifying a player’s performance, PFF’s grading system isn’t the be-all and end-all either. It is one metric out of many that are out there.

Here are the Jaguars‘ five highest-graded players on offense and defense, along with the three lowest-graded players overall.

Jaguars’ 5 highest-graded players on offenseTE Brenton Strange: 86.2QB Trevor Lawrence: 66.7RT Anton Harrison: 63.6C Robert Hainsey: 63.2WR Travis Hunter: 62.8

In a game filled with drops, Strange provided Lawrence with a very reliable target. It’s also not a surprise that two of the Jaguars’ offensive linemen are among their five highest-graded players. Against a very good Houston pass rush, Lawrence had plenty of time in the pocket.

Lawrence’s raw numbers won’t jump off the stat sheet, but his grade from PFF echoes what Liam Coen said in that operationally, there were a lot of good things from him, and that dropped passes hurt his overall numbers. Lawrence also made the big throw late when he had to, and scrambled for a key first down.

Jaguars’ 5 highest-graded players on defenseDE Josh Hines-Allen: 87.4DE Travon Walker: 78.7CB Jourdan Lewis: 78.1S Antonio Johnson: 77.5DT DaVon Hamilton: 73.7

Hines-Allen and Walker continue to put together dominant performances to start the season. Of the Jaguars’ 20 quarterback pressures, Hines-Allen and Walker combined for 12 of them. The stat sheet also show the penalties that Hines-Allen was able to draw from the Houston blockers.

Lewis was again exceptional, allowing just three receptions on eight targets for four yards. He also had another interception. Antonio Johnson added the game-sealing interception late as well.

Hamilton graded out very well against the run.

Jaguars’ 3 lowest-graded playersLT Walker Little: 42.8RG Patrick Mekari: 43.6S Andrew Wingard: 47.2

On a day when the Jaguars’ offensive line unit as a whole kept Lawrence clean, Little was responsible for eight of the 18 quarterback pressures, according to PFF. Mekari would give up three pressures and had a so-so run-blocking grade.

Wingard had a pretty clean day, making all six of his tackle attempts, but PFF wasn’t a fan of what they saw in coverage. On paper, Wingard allowed just three receptions on six targets for 37 yards.
