Week three of the NFL season is behind us, and it was capped off by an exciting MNF game between the Lions and the Ravens. It was the weekend of blocked field goals in close games too. Quite the excitement to see those play out. Let’s see how the Bama players around the league did in their respective games this past weekend.

Dolphins – 21 at Bills – 31:

Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins) – A great game and one that came down to the fourth quarter. The ten point difference is misleading as it was the Dolphins who had control during most of the game. Tagovailoa played well, but another fourth quarter pick led to a change in the flow of the game in the final minutes. Tough to see as this team was in the red-zone and ready to take the lead back.

Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins) – Five catches for 39 yards and a touchdown. Tow consecutive games where Waddle found the end-zone. He is looking as healthy as ever and on track, at least in touchdowns, to match his first two seasons in the league. He was also the intended target for Tagovailoa, when he threw the pick. It would have been a touchdown as well.

Packers – 10 at Browns – 13:

Josh Jacobs (Packers) – A great dynamic player for the Packers, he was used heavily in both the run game and pass game. Rushing for 30 yards on 16 carries, and catching five passes for 44 yards. Not as efficient on the ground, but the Browns have a great run defense so no surprise there. A closer game than most would have thought but the Packers need to get their passing game going more if they want to see bigger success with Jacobs against strong defenses.

Jerry Jeudy (Browns) – The Packers limited this offense very heavily and a lot of that came from Micah Parsons being Micah Parsons. Their backend defense also played really well taking almost all of their receivers out of relevancy for Flacco. This limited Jeudy to one catch for 17 yards. The offensive line for the Browns clearly needs work. Flacco has no time and they have not put up more than 17 points in a game yet.

Lions – 38 at Ravens – 30:

Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) – Another great night for the Lions offense, as their rushing attack led the way in this game. Gibbs put up a great line rushing the ball 22 times for 67 yards and two touchdowns, also catching the ball five times for 32 yards. This offense is clearly clicking. Even without Ben Johnson.

Jameson Williams (Lions) – A modest night but he did see some great work moving the chains to set up touchdowns, off two catches for 43 yards. It was a run heavy night but this offense can do it all. He should continue to see more involvement in the coming weeks.

Derrick Henry (Ravens) – 12 carries for 50 yards. A decent night for Henry but another tough one as he fumbled in the fourth quarter again. He was visibly frustrated after the game and rightfully so as fumbles are not what he is known for. He has now fumbled the ball in three straight games. But he is still Derrick Henry so he should bounce back no problem.

Player of the Week:

Jalen Hurts (Eagles) – Getting a big comeback win at home against a great Rams team, Hurts put up four touchdowns on the day, three through the air and one on the ground. Despite a fumble he played great and has now led this team to a 3-0 start. Still the team to beat in the league, thanks to Hurts.
