The Pittsburgh Steelers received some important injury updates on Tuesday — OLB Alex Highsmith, S DeShon Elliott, and CB Joey Porter — courtesy of HC Mike Tomlin ahead of their Week 4 matchup vs. the Minnesota Vikings in Ireland.
While Highsmith was ruled out of the Steelers‘ Ireland matchup vs. the Vikings, Elliott and Porter have a chance to play this week. Tomlin also stated during Tuesday’s press conference in the that their availability is indicative of their participation this week.

Elliott and Porter were injured in the Steelers’ regular season opener against the New York Jets, while Highsmith injured his ankle versus the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2 and was expected to miss multiple weeks.
The true embodiment of a next-man-up mentality, CB Brandin Echols, S Jabrill Peppers, and OLB Nick Herbig all performed exceptionally well in the absence of Porter, Elliott, and Highsmith respectively, with Steelers Nation hopeful the trio of underrated defenders can keep the ball rolling as Pittsburgh prepares for their long trip overseas to Dublin, Ireland.
