The Washington Commanders and wide receiver Terry McLaurin had a tension-filled offseason with McLaurin holding out for a contract extension. The Commanders eventually acquiesced to his request, and the two sides finally came to an agreement just before the start of the season.
After playing through the first three games, McLaurin may now be sidelined with a quadriceps injury.
McLaurin will undergo further testing on Tuesday to determine the severity of the injury and develop a treatment plan for recovery.

This season, McLaurin has 10 receptions on 17 targets for 149 yards, an average of less than 50 yards per game. Missing the entire offseason likely hurt the veteran wideout. However, McLaurin isn’t known to miss games. He missed a couple of games in each of his first two seasons, but since then, he’s been reliably on the field. McLaurin was reportedly injured on this long reception, where he tried to stretch over the goal line.
With the injury to Jayden Daniels and the fact that the Commanders have the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers up next, it might not be a bad idea to hold the wide receiver out for a game or two. Depending on the injury, of course, he may not need to sit, or he may need to sit for a longer period. Either way, being cautious with the 30-year-old receiver is not a bad idea.
The Commanders have several days before they have to decide whether McLaurin will play this weekend, and we’ll likely know more about the severity of the injury.
