The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh next April, a city that hosts a team, the Steelers, with whom the Vikings will play in Dublin this season. Before next April, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft.

CBS Sports’ Mike Renner recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle. After the Vikings’ win on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, it may seem odd to already be looking to address needs. However, Renner projects them to select Clemson cornerback Aveion Terrell. While Clemson has not had the year that many expected, including their top prospects, Renner has him still going in the top 20.

Renner writes, “The Vikings cornerback room lacks the kind of true cover corners whom Brian Flores likes to let go one-on-one. Terrell is that kind of corner. He’s got elite feet and quickness to stay in hip pockets of opposing receivers.”

The Vikings are getting cornerback help with Byron Murphy Jr. locked up, and their signing Isaiah Rodgers this offseason may seem odd, but they need the help.

We have seen teams that need to be able to match up with others that are deep at wide receiver by three to four positions. Right now, the Vikings cannot, and it puts too much pressure on their pass rush. Adding Terrell gives them some depth as well as a younger player to develop alongside the two veterans.
