Shocking move by Tennessee.

The Tennessee Titans continued to shake things up on Tuesday by trading away one of their starting cornerbacks.

Just hours after it was announced that Titans head coach Brian Callahan was ceding play-calling duties and turning them over to quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree, Tennessee surprised many by trading starting cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. to the New York Jets.

Although he was the team’s leading tackler heading into the matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, Brownlee was off to a rough start to the season in coverage, being called for multiple penalties over the first two weeks of the season while allowing eight completions on 10 targets for 59 yards and a touchdown over two games. He missed Week 3 after suffering an ankle injury during practice and was seen in a walking boot on Sunday.

In the deal, the Titans sent Brownlee and a seventh-round pick to the Jets in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

The move shocked many in the fan base who viewed him as a solid option opposite L’Jarius Sneed in the Titans’ secondary. Brownlee is a feisty corner who is coming off a solid rookie season after being selected in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft.

The Titans will return to the practice field on Wednesday to start on-field work for their Week 4 matchup with the Houston Texans.
