The Dallas Cowboys made the shocking move to deal star pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers right before the season started after the sides couldn’t come to terms on a long-term extension to keep Parsons in Dallas for the foreseeable future.

The move has not worked out well for the Cowboys through the first three games of the 2025 season, as the Cowboys sit at 1-2 and their defense looks like one of the worst units in the league.

It was a shocking move, and one ESPN analyst is saying that Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is making these kind of moves becuase he’s not interested in winning another Super Bowl and bringing the Lombardi trophy back to Dallas.

“Jerry Jones isn’t running this team to win a Super Bowl. He’s running this team to have it be talked about. Running this team to have it in the tabloids. Running this team to have it be a reality show and a soap opera, not to be an actual contender,” Ryan Clark said, via Awful Announcing.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Why are people so surprised that the billionaires running entertainment companies (like NFL franchises) are doing so in a way to maximize profit? This idea that winning a sports league would be more important to owners people than making massive profits is childish,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Why is Ryan Clark talking about running a team? He’s never run an NFL team before so he shouldn’t be allowed to talk (that’s how this works, right?),” one fan added.

“His take is on point but the network he works for is the enabler They talk cowboys 11 months of the year. Im done with ESPN Another collusion among billionaires,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Cowboys and Jones can make Clark eat his words.
