MLB best bets for Wednesday
The Detroit Tigers appeared to have the AL Central division locked up heading into August, but they’re now in a tie with the Cleveland Guardians heading into the last stretch of the regular season. The Guardians have only lost twice since Sept. 5 and could have sole possession of the division lead with a win on Wednesday. Detroit will send Jack Flaherty (8-14, 4.60 ERA) to the bump while Cleveland counters with Tanner Bibee (11-11, 4.34 ERA). On the NL side, the New York Mets have a one-game lead on the Cincinnati Reds for the final wild card spot and look to take another game off the Cubs Wednesday.
