In an interview with Kay Adams on the “Up & Adams Show”, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Arik Armstead talked about being “fed up” with the lack of respect the Jaguars’ defense receives.
“I talked about this when I came to the Jags,” Armstead said. “This is a take-what-you-want league, and you have to take respect.”

After a 2-1 start, forcing nine turnovers, holding the Panthers and Texans to 10 points each, Armstead’s public perception hasn’t changed.
“Quite honestly, we are disrespected,” Armstead said. “We gotta continue to do day by day and not rest on what we have done for the first three games.”
Instead of rolling over and complaining, the six-foot-seven, 290-pound tackle knows the only way to change people’s opinions is to prove people wrong on the field, not in interviews or media availability.
“You feel disrespected? The only way to change that narrative is to go do something,” Armstead said. “Go do some special, historic stuff, which is what we are doing right now.”

On Sunday, September 28, the Jaguars can continue on the path of doing “historic stuff.” They have a chance to start 3-1 for the first time since 2018.
“Carry that chip on our shoulder,” Armstead said. “Tired of being fed up with being at the bottom of the league, and get that turned around.”
The Jaguars’ defense enters Week 4 tied for fifth in points per game allowed.
