The NFL season is going into its 4th week, and Buffalo Bills fans are still waiting to see their most recent first-round draft pick on the field. He was hurt in training camp and hasn’t been seen much ever since.

They call it an LCL injury. Essentially, he overextended the ligament that connects his thighbone to the smaller bone of his lower leg. While they originally thought it could be much more serious, the good news was that his ACL was still intact, and the LCL was just sprained and not torn.

He was placed on IR (injured reserve) which meant that he was ineligible to return to the roster for a minimum of 4 games. This Sunday’s game will be the 4th game that he will miss.

Is Max Hairston ready to come back yet?

As fans, we’re all excited to see what Hairston will be able to do on the field for the Bills. However, he’s an investment for the Buffalo Bills. The last thing they want to do is to send him out on the field when he’s not physically ready. Not only will it limit his play, but it could reaggravate or worsen the injury.

Sean McDermott addressed Max Hairston in his press conference today

Today, during a press conference, coach Sean McDermott addressed the situation, saying that while he’s moving in the right direction, it might be a little longer before they’re comfortable putting him out there.

Max is looking good

Hairston was able to get some rehab done on the field near his teammates today and while he still looks a little shaky and was wearing a rather large brace, he was moving pretty well in drills.
