The Denver Broncos had a busy Wednesday.
After placing linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) on injured reserve last week, the team filled his former spot on the active roster by promoting fullback Adam Prentice from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Wednesday. Prentice had maxed out his three practice squad elevations, and it now looks like he’s set to serve as the full-time fullback.
Interestingly, Denver only has three inside linebackers on the active roster: Alex Singleton, Justin Strnad and undrafted rookie Karene Reid. Practice squad veteran Garret Wallow has one game-day elevation left, Levelle Bailey has two remaining and UDFA Jordan Turner has not yet used any of his three practice squad elevations. Greenlaw has to sit out three more games before being eligible to return to the active roster.
To fill Prentice’s former spot on the practice squad, the Broncos signed defensive back A.J. Woods, who was one of six players who worked out for Denver on Wednesday.
