On Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams Show,” Jaguars defensive tackle Arik Armstead opened up about the toe injury to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow that he suffered against Jacksonville in Week 2.
“I love Joe Burrow,” Armstead said. “Joe Burrow is a top-five quarterback in my eyes. The NFL is better when Joe Burrow is out there. I have a lot of respect for him as a player and competitor. I want him to be out there.”

Armstead recorded his first sack of the season against Cincinnati’s signal caller, a tackle that could alter the course of the Bengals’ 2025 season.
On a second down and 20, early in the second quarter, Burrow dropped back to pass and was draped by Armstead for a five-yard loss.
“I didn’t do anything to Joe Burrow,” Armstead told Adams before reluctantly doubling back.
“I did have a hand in it, but I didn’t have my hand on the foot that got hurt.”
Armstead had a hold of Burrows’ right ankle, but it was his left toe that suffered the injury, which reportedly ruled him out for three months.

“It’s unfortunate that I had somewhat of a hand in it because I really want him to be out there,” Armstead said.
While Armstead recognized that social media had a frenzy with his tackle that sidelined Cincinnati’s franchise quarterback, he also understands that injuries are a part of the game.
“At the end of the day, I want to play football, and if you could remove injuries, this would be God’s gift to earth,” Armstead said.
