The Buffalo Bills provided new updates on two injuries on Wednesday ahead of facing the New Orleans Saints (0-3) in Week 4.

Of those, one involves a new player.

Added to the injury report was offensive lineman Spencer Brown (calf). Head coach Sean McDermott was coy about his status for the upcoming game but did say Brown was injured in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.

On the plus side, Brown did not miss any playing time against the Dolphins. Brown’s practice status on Thursday will be telling, especially considering the extended time off the team has had since last playing on “Thursday Night Football.”

The other player mentioned was first-round rookie Maxwell Hairston. The cornerback has been out since training camp with a knee injury.

Hairston was placed on injured reserve and is nearing the end of the four weeks he must stay on that designation. But McDermott did not make it sound like Hairston would play any time soon.

The coach mentioned “lowering expectations” regarding Hairston returning and admitted he doesn’t know how long he will be out.
