The Miami Dolphins‘ first injury report for Week 4 looks much better than it did a week ago, but the team’s secondary may still be forced to rely on backups against the New York Jets.
Cornerback Storm Duck remains sidelined with an ankle injury and rookie slot corner Jason Marshall Jr. suffered a hamstring injury in the Dolphins‘ loss to the Buffalo Bills. Earlier this week, Miami coach Mike McDaniel wasn’t confident about Duck’s chances at making a return to action.

“I don’t have my hopes up for this next game,” McDaniel said of Duck on Monday. “It’s a little early. Soon after that I’m hoping, but I can almost rule him out this week just because of the timing.”
Aside from the two sidelined corners, though, every other Dolphins player was on the practice field in some capacity Thursday:
Thursday participation
DNP
CB Jason Marshall Jr. (hamstring)
Limited
WR Jaylen Waddle (shoulder)
Full
S Ifeatu Melifonwu (calf)
The most notable injury news for the Jets was the full participation of quarterback Justin Fields in practice Thursday. While the passer remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol for now, his work in practice likely means he’s ready to be available Monday night against the Dolphins.
