Several key defensive Eagles returned to practice on Thursday as the team continues to prepare for the Buccaneers this weekend.
All three players on the 53-man roster who missed the first day of practice this week — Zack Baun (knee), Jihaad Campbell (triceps) and Adoree’ Jackson (groin) — returned to practice on Thursday.
Baun had a compression sleeve on his left leg after wearing a knee brace on that knee to start the week. Campbell had a brace on his left elbow like the one we had seen Nolan Smith wearing this year. Both Baun and Campbell were at least participating in individual drills.
As a reminder, Smith, Jakorian Bennett and Darius Cooper were all placed on Injured Reserve earlier in the week. They will each be out at least four games.
Another bit of good news on Thursday was that Lane Johnson (stinger) was back at practice on Thursday after being limited to start the week. He even participated in individual drills, which he did not do on Wednesday.
We’ll see if Jackson is able to play in Week 4. If not, Kelee Ringo would likely be the next guy up because Bennett is on IR.
Tanner McKee (right thumb) was practicing on Thursday after being limited again to start the week. Will Shipley (oblique) was back out there again after being bumped up to a full participant on Wednesday. Shipley is trending toward a return on Sunday.
All 53 players on the roster were participating in the second practice session of the week.
Newcomer Xavier Gipson, who joined the team off waivers earlier in the week, was with the group of punt returners.
