FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Though Casey Washington has been active in practices for the last week, he had yet to be a full participant as he worked through the league’s concussion protocol. That is, until Thursday.
Washington first popped up on the team’s injury report following Atlanta’s loss to Tampa Bay in Week 1. He had a concussion and missed practice in the lead up to the team’s Week 2 win in Minnesota. He has been a limited participant since, which has prevented him from getting the green light to be active on game day.
League protocol states a player must be a full participant in at least one practice prior to a game day in order to be available for the game roster. With Washington working at full capacity Thursday, and barring any setback, he should be available for Atlanta against the Commanders this Sunday.
In other injury news, Kyle Pitts (toe) also returned to full-go, as did DeMarcco Hellams (hamstring).
You can view Thursday’s injury report below. You can also check out the entire Falcons-Commanders reports from the week here, which includes tracking of quarterback Jayden Daniels’ progress and potential return from a knee injury.
