The Washington Commanders returned to the practice field on Thursday, and five players were absent due to injuries. In some good news, quarterback Jayden Daniels did practice for the second consecutive day, but on a limited basis. Last week, Daniels missed Wednesday and Thursday’s practice before practicing on a limited basis on Friday. The Commanders still ruled him out for Week 3.
The concern for Washington is wide receiver Terry McLaurin. McLaurin missed his second consecutive practice with what is labeled a quad injury. At this point, it would take a miracle for McLaurin to play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Also out for a second straight day was rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt. While it doesn’t sound like Croskey-Merritt is necessarily dealing with an injury, the soreness he experienced on Monday may be more serious than initially reported. Croskey-Merritt’s status will come down to whether he can participate on Friday.
Here’s Washington’s full injury report for Thursday:
Did not participate
WR Noah Brown (groin/knee)
RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (knee)
Limited participantFull participant
TE Colson Yankoff (ankle)
The good news here is Amos. He left Sunday’s game with an injury. It certainly looks like the Commanders will have all three starting cornerbacks on the field against the Falcons. Bates and Brown haven’t practiced since before the Green Bay game and appear likely to miss a second consecutive game.

Falcons starting cornerback A.J. Terrell missed practice again and is trending to miss another game. With McLaurin potentially out, that would mean Washington’s No. 1 wide receiver and Atlanta’s No. 1 cornerback would potentially both be out.
