Before the team’s final injury report is released on Friday afternoon, the Detroit Lions have already ruled out a defensive player from participating against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell noted at the end of his Friday press conference that reserve linebacker and special teamer Zach Cunningham will miss Sunday’s game in Ford Field. “He’ll be out”, Campbell said of Cunningham.

Cunningham came out of Monday night’s win in Baltimore in fine health. He was not on Wednesday’s injury report, but popped up as a limited participant on Thursday with a hamstring injury. That hamstring will keep him out.

Cunningham plays much more on special teams than on defense, where he has been on the field for under 10 snaps through three games. Grant Stuard and Trevor Nowaske can fill in those scant defensive snaps at linebacker.
