The Titans will enter Sunday’s game against Houston on the verge of tying a dubious team record.

Tennessee has lost nine consecutive games dating back to last season, six straight to end 2024 and three more to start 2025.

That means a loss Sunday would tie the “Titans era” of 10 defeats in a row, which was set by the Ken Whisenhunt-guided team that lost 10 straight to finish the 2014 season.

More recently, the Titans lost eight in a row under former coach Mike Vrabel, seven to end the 2022 season and the 2023 opener.

The Titans (0-3) are seven-point underdogs against winless Houston (0-3), but might be able to take confidence from the fact Tennessee’s last win was at the Texans — a 32-27 victory in Week 12 of the 2024 season.

Here are nine key numbers surrounding the nine-game losing streak:

306—The number of days since the Titans last emerged victorious. That victory over Houston came on Nov. 24, 2024, just in time for Tennessee fans to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal four days later.

11.5—The average margin of loss during the streak (29.3 to 17.8). Tennessee has suffered four one-score defeats, while falling by more than eight points five times.

8.1—The average margin the Titans have trailed at halftime during the streak, as opponents have outscored Tennessee by a combined 145-72 in the first and second quarters.

5—The number of games during the streak in which the Titans have led at some point. Tennessee has held second-half leads in three of the contests—including games against the Broncos and Rams this season.

3—The number of times the Titans’ offense has surrendered a touchdown during the streak—once on a Cam Ward pick-six against Indianapolis, once on a Will Levis fumble returned for touchdown against Houston, and once on a Levis pick-six against Cincinnati.

2—The number of times the Titans scored more than 20 points during the losing streak—once in a 37-27 loss to Cincinnati last season and once in a 38-30 defeat to Indianapolis last season.

2—The number of times the Titans won the turnover battle during the streak —once against Denver this season and once vs. Jacksonville last year. Tennessee broke even on the turnover front in two other contests, while suffering more turnovers than takeaways in five games.

1—The combined number of times the Titans have recorded a 100-yard rushing game, 100-yard receiving game or 300-yard passing game during the losing streak. Tony Pollard ran 16 times for 102 yards in a loss to Jacksonville last December.

(-16)—The sack differential during the losing streak, as the Titans have surrendered 25 sacks in those contests and produced just nine sacks.

(-16.9)—The average penalty yards differential per game between the Titans and their opponents during the streak. Tennessee has been penalized 75 times for 626 yards (an average of 69.6 yards per game) in the nine contests, while opponents have been penalized 60 times for 474 yards (an average of 52.7 yards per contest).
