The San Francisco 49ers avoided a catastrophe at quarterback in Week 4, but their receiving corps continues to be shrouded in question marks.

QB Brock Purdy was not on the team’s Week 4 injury report after getting two limited practices in before a full participation in Friday’s session. His backup, Mac Jones, is questionable. Purdy has missed the 49ers’ last two games with a toe injury he suffered in Week 1. The original prognosis for Purdy was that he’d miss two-to-five weeks and the 49ers are fortunate his return came on the front end of that timeline.

On the other hand, the 49ers can’t escape the injury bug at wide receiver. WR Jauan Jennings missed Week 3 with shoulder and ankle injuries. He’s once again questionable after getting a limited practice in Friday. It was his first practice since he hurt his ankle in Week 2.

Second-year WR Ricky Pearsall has been terrific in Jennings’ stead, but now Pearsall has hit the injury report with a knee issue. He was out of practice Wednesday and didn’t seem concerned when speaking with reporters. He was a limited participant Thursday and Friday before getting listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

If Pearsall and Jennings are both unable to go in Week 4, the team would roll out a starting WR duo of Demarcus Robinson, who is making his season debut after completing a three-game suspension, and veteran Kendrick Bourne.
