It remains to be seen whether Shilo Sanders has a future in the NFL.
After news broke that the undrafted rookie had a tryout with the San Franscio 49ers, dad Deion shared an unflattering story about the 25-year-old.

It’s clear that despite the obstacles, Sanders will continue to chase his NFL dreams.
“He [Shilo] had a workout with the 49ers this past week,” Deion revealed on the Colorado Football Coaches Show with co-host Mark Johnson.
But the Buffs coach then shared a damning interaction he had with his son.
“I say, ‘Son, just a random question. When the last time you’ve run?'” Deion said on the podcast.
He then laughed as he revealed Shilo’s answer. “‘I’ve been working out as I…you know…’ [Shilo] I know you like a book, son.
“Shilo is hilarious, man. He’s an entertainer.”
Shilo Sanders has other career options away from the NFL
Deion seemed to imply that Shilo has not have been working out since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cut him in August.
The Dallas Cowboys legend also shared how the safety has been exploring other potential careers.
“He was in California last week meeting with a bunch of agents because he has the opportunity to do movies and sitcoms and stuff like that and then YouTube content,” Deion added.
Sanders is known to be a big personality, and Deion ended by reminding listeners that he is still proud of his son.
“That’s who he is,” he said. “Shilo’s going to make it.”

Deion hasn’t shied away from speaking about his sons in recent weeks.
He recently appeared on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights Podcast and made a bold prediction about Sheuder Sanders’ Cleveland Browns future.
49ers’ injury-ravaged squad
Shilo’s opportunity to try out with San Franacio comes amid the team’s latest injury crisis.
Tight end George Kittle is on the injury reserve, $265 million quarterback Brock Purdy is still out, and defensive tackle CJ West is still suffering from a thumb injury.
Despite the absences, the 49ers are still 3-0 to start the season, although the recent tryouts serve as a way to bring in coverage to ensure momentum is kept.
Shilo Sanders’ NFL career so far
After going undrafted in April’s draft, the Buccaneers picked up Sanders in the preseason.
But he was eventually waived as part of the final roster cuts ahead of the 2025 season.
Sanders also didn’t make the best case to be kept as he was ejected from a preseason game for punching Buffalo Bills Zach Davidson.
That action saw him fined $4,669 and certainly left a distaste in the mouths of many NFL front offices.
Sanders himself has admitted he is unsure about his future in the NFL, and with his Dad revealing that he has had meetings in the entertainment industry, we might not see him on the field again.
“I feel like this is just part of my story to grow and do bigger and better things,” he said in a video posted three weeks ago.
“Whether it’s finding another team, whether it’s getting another opportunity in the NFL, it is what it is.
“God has blessed me with a lot of talent to do things other than football.”
