GRANGEVILLE — The host Bulldogs’ AJ Rose and Callie Howe won the boys and girls events respectively in the Grangeville Fairway Frenzy Invite.

Rose won the boys 5-kilometer race with a time of 18 minutes, 5.84 seconds, while Howe headed up the girls field at 23:16.25.

The Bulldog boys defeated Troy for the boys team title, while Grangeville fielded the only scoring team on the girls side.

Greyhound boys run Nike meet

PORTLAND, Ore. — Cade Udy led the the way with a 14th-place individual time of 16:35.40 as the Pullman boys competed in the Nike Portland meet held at Blue Lake Regional Park.

As a team, the Hounds placed 10th from a field of 25 in the meet’s Division II race.

Cougs set records

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Washington State freshman Rosemary Longisa and sophomore Solomon Kipchoge set course records in their respective events at the Gans Creek Classic.

Longisa finished the women’s 6-kilometer with a time of 19 minutes, 7.0 seconds and won by seven-tenths of a second. It was the second consecutive meet in which Longisa has set a course record.

Kipchoge won the men’s 8-kilometer in 22:24.7.

His time was eight seconds better than the second-place finisher.

The Cougar women finished ninth in team scoring, while the men were 15th.
