The New York Jets will make their primetime debut this season on “Monday Night Football” in Week 4 on the road against the Miami Dolphins.
They’ll have their starting quarterback back under center.
Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Saturday that Justin Fields has cleared concussion protocol and will play against the Dolphins. Fields had missed the Jets’ Week 3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after suffering a concussion in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills.
Fields’ concussion in Week 2 was his first recorded one since he entered the league in 2021. He said he dealt with multiple physical symptoms in the wake of his head injury.
“Migraine throughout the day, sensitivity to light, that was a big one,” Fields said. “I couldn’t really focus. Like if I tried to concentrate on a paper I couldn’t really focus, my head would hurt a little bit. Small stuff like that was kind of weird.”

Veteran backup Tyrod Taylor started versus the Buccaneers in Week 3. He completed 26 of 36 passes for 197 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and a fumble. He also had eight carries for 48 rushing yards.
New York will be without recent trade acquisition Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and Jermaine Johnson on Monday night. Both players missed practice all week with ankle injuries.
