The Tennessee Titans placed former Michigan running back Kalel Mullings on injured reserve on Friday.
The rookie sixth-round pick will miss a minimum of four games because of an ankle injury. Mullings has appeared in two games for far in 2025 but has only played on special teams. He originally injured his ankle in the preseason.
Fellow Titans running back Tyjae Spears began the season on IR but is eligible to return in Week 5. With Spears on IR and Mullings being banged up, Tennessee has leaned heavily on No. 1 running back Tony Pollard this season. He has handled 54 of the team’s 58 rushing attempts by running backs.
Mullings began his college career as a linebacker before moving to running back in 2022. He rushed for 253 yards combined in 2022-23 before having a breakout season in 2024, rushing for 948 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. In the preseason, the 6-foot-2, 226 pounder carried 21 times for 85 yards.
