Quarterback Mac Jones, who was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, has been cleared and will serve as the 49ers’ backup to Brock Purdy.

The 49ers will go into the game with Purdy and Jones as the only quarterbacks active for the Week 4 game at Levi’s Stadium.

The only roster move the 49ers made on Saturday was a standard elevation of veteran cornerback Eli Apple from the practice squad.

Apple will see action in his 10th NFL season. He has played in 102 games with 82 starts for the New York Giants, New Orleans, Carolina, Cincinnati, Miami, the Los Angeles Chargers and, now, with the 49ers.

The 49ers listed starting cornerback Renardo Green as questionable with a neck condition. Apple, Darrell Luter and Chase Lucas are the cornerbacks who could see action opposite of starting cornerback Deommodore Lenoir if Green is ruled out for the game.

Ricky Pearsall is expected to play after being limited with a knee injury. Jauan Jennings’ status is more uncertain with an ankle injury.

The 49ers will suit up five wide receivers. The other receivers eligible to play are Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore, who serves as the team’s primary punt returner.

Purdy is set to return to the starting lineup after missing two games with a toe injury. The 49ers did not even list him on their injury report for Sunday’s game. He was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but was a full participant in practice on Friday.

Meanwhile, Jones has also been cleared to suit up as the backup on Sunday. He sustained a left knee injury in the 49ers’ Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals. Jones was limited in practice throughout the week.

Defensive tackle CJ West (thumb) and wide receiver Jordan Watkins were ruled out of Sunday’s game.

Left guard Connor Colby (groin) was listed as questionable but is expected to play.
