The LA Chargers (3-0) and the New York Giants (0-3) meet Sunday for a Week 4 game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Chargers vs. Giants odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
The big news in this game is the arrival of Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart. He makes his first NFL start, as coach Brian Daboll has elected to bench QB Russell Wilson after 3 games. Wilson looked lost in a 22-9 Sunday Night Football loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, completing just 18-of-32 passes for 160 yards, 0 TDs and 2 INTs.
The Giants exploded for 37 points in a 3-point OT loss in Dallas in Week 2, but the offense managed just 15 total points in the other 2 games. The Under is 2-1 in 3 games for the G-Men.
The Chargers have won all 3 games to date, while going 2-0-1 against the spread (ATS). Last week, LA won 23-20 as a 3-point favorite at most shops, cashing the Under (45.5) for the second straight outing. PK Cameron Dicker nailed a 43-yard field at the buzzer, and the Bolts erased a 20-13 deficit with 2:37 to go. QB Justin Herbert threw for 300 yards, including a 20-yard TD to WR Keenan Allen late in the fourth quarter to tie it.
LA steps out of conference for the first time this season. In fact, it’s the first non-divisional game for the Bolts. The Giants lost to the Chiefs last week in its first game vs. the AFC. It was also New York’s first home game.

Backing the Chargers (-300) will cost you 3 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward. Even if you were to fold the Bolts into a multi-leg parlay, it removes a lot of the value out of your ticket.
PASS.
Take CHARGERS -6.5 (-110) in this road contest.
Drawing your first NFL start is tough enough, but Dart will have an even more difficult task against a Chargers passing defense which allows just 5.5 yards per pass attempt, second-best in the NFL. The Bolts have conceded just 2 pass TDs through 3 games, too, so look for it to be a slow-go for the Giants, regardless of who is under center.
UNDER 43 (-115) is the lean, but roll with a half-unit play at most.
Again, the Los Angeles defense is suffocating. In addition, the Giants will have a different look on offense, not only with Dart under center, but Tracy inactive, meaning rookie RB Cam Skattebo and journeyman RB Devin Singletary are leaned upon a little more. That doesn’t sound promising.
The Giants are middle of the road against the pass. They actually did a pretty good job on SNF limiting the effectiveness of Mahomes. Now, look for Herbert to struggle for everything he gets.
