Talanoa Hufanga’s unnecessary roughness penalty proved to be costly for the Denver Broncos against the Los Angeles Chargers last week, but that foul won’t hit the safety in his wallet.

The NFL has announced its fines for Week 3 and for the third straight week, no Broncos players received a fine.

Hufanga was penalized for unnecessary roughness in the fourth quarter of last week’s game at SoFi Stadium. On that play, Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen caught an 11-yard pass at his own 35-yard line to pick up a 3rd-and-10 with 4:18 remaining in the game, trailing by seven points.

Hufanga wrapped up Allen and then took a few steps before swinging Allen to the ground, drawing a foul. That 15-yard penalty moved the ball up to midfield. Four plays later, L.A. quarterback Justin Hebert threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Allen to tie the game at 20-20.

The Chargers later kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired in an eventual 23-20 victory. Hufanga’s undisciplined 15-yard penalty helped set up L.A.’s game-tying drive.

Despite that unnecessary roughness penalty, the Broncos have now started the season with three straight games without a fine.
