Social media got duped into thinking that New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart trolled Justin Herbert and Madison Beer ahead of his NFL debut on Sunday.

After an ugly 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 3, the Giants benched Russell Wilson in favor of Jaxson Dart. The Ole Miss product faces a daunting challenge in his NFL debut, with Herbert and the 3-0 Los Angeles Chargers on the Week 4 slate.

For those unaware, the 27-year-old Justin Herbert has been spotted in public with pop artist Madison Beeron several occasions. Neither side has publicly confirmed a relationship, but it says a lot that they’ve been together aplenty this month.

There’s a fake X/Twitter post going around stating that Jaxson Dart trolled Herbert and Beer by sharing a photo of her on his (Dart’s) Instagram story with the caption “Gameday tomorrow,” only to delete it. Here’s a look at it:

As you’d expect, social media had plenty of hilarious responses to the obviously fake post.

“His only mistake was deleting this,” a fan wrote.

“Plot twist: he’s trying to intercept Herbert off the field too 😂,” said another.

“Lmao the Giants are either gonna pull off a crazy upset or get steam rolled by a pissed off Herbert; no in between,” wrote a user.

“No way, Dart already king of NY😭,” said a fan.

“Congratulations Dart, had a golden opportunity going into sunday and you just made your situation 10x worse 😂,” wrote another.

“Yea he is definitely cooked after this one😂😂😂,” a fan commented.

Dart faces a Chargers defense allowing just 16.7 points per game, the third-lowest mark in the NFL, per Pro Football Reference.

Jaxson Dart Can Bring New Hope To Struggling Giants Franchisehttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4PDTBY_159JXDBd00Jaxson Dart (Mark Smith-Imagn Images)

The Giants traded up into the No. 25 spot via the Houston Texans to select Dart, marking the second time New York used a first-round pick on a quarterback in six years.

Truth be told, GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll won’t last much longer if Dart doesn’t get it going as a rookie. Daboll was patient with Russell Wilson before turning to Dart as a last resort.

Dart has a chance to make an immediate impact and bring new hope to a long-struggling Giants franchise that has only sniffed the postseason twice since their last Super Bowl championship in the 2011 season.
