The San Francisco 49ers on Saturday made only one roster move to elevate cornerback Eli Apple from the practice squad for Sunday’s matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

A lack of additional moves is a good sign for a group of 49ers who were officially listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.

By not elevating quarterback Adrian Martinez, the 49ers indicated backup QB Mac Jones will be good to go after injuring his knee late in Week 3 vs. the Arizona Cardinals. Jones was limited in all three days of practice.

There’s less clarity at wide receiver where both Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings were listed as questionable.

Pearsall is working through a knee issue and was limited in two days of practice after missing Wednesday’s session. Jennings has ankle and shoulder injuries that kept him out Wednesday and Thursday. He returned to practice Friday in a limited fashion.

That San Francisco didn’t bring up a receiver from the practice squad is a good sign for at least one of Pearsall or Jennings to be active Sunday.

If they were both out the receiving corps would be limited to Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore. It stands to reason another WR would’ve been elevated if the 49ers were going to be missing both of their questionable WRs.

Pearsall on Wednesday did indicate to reporters he expected to play Sunday. With Jennings it’s more precarious since he missed Week 3 and only got one day of limited practice in. San Francisco plays again Thursday to open Week 5 which may lead the team to be more cautious with him.

Offensive lineman Connor Colby was also questionable. He hurt his groin in practice leading up to Week 3 and was able to play, but he was limited throughout Week 4 practices. Undrafted rookie Drew Moss is likely the first player up if Colby is down, but the 49ers may have elevated veteran interior OL Nick Zakelj if they were going to be short on interior depth.

The 49ers will make their list of inactive players official 90 minutes ahead of Sunday’s 1:05pm Pacific Time kickoff from Levi’s Stadium.
