The Washington Commanders‘ injury report for their Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons looked almost bleak at times over the past several days. Quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin will miss Sunday’s game. So, too, will tight end John Bates and wide receiver Noah Brown, and safety Percy Butler. Also on the injury report was rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt.
Croskey-Merritt experienced soreness in his knee after last week’s win over the Raiders and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. However, he practiced on Friday.

In some good injury news for Washington, Croskey-Merritt will play on Sunday, says ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Through three games, Croskey-Merritt leads the Commanders with 125 rushing yards on 22 attempts. He has also rushed for two touchdowns. Washington employs a running back by committee, but Croskey-Merritt is a critical part of that committee. He rushed for 82 yards in the season opener and won NFL Rookie of the Week honors.
Marcus Mariota makes his second consecutive start for the Commanders. Mariota was outstanding in last week’s win and, on Sunday, faces a former team for the second straight time. With McLaurin and Brown out, expect a heavy dose of the running game against the Falcons, so Croskey-Merritt’s playing is a big deal for Washington.
