SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Briar Cliff had a chance to do something only one Charger team had done before and that would be to start out a season with a 4-1 record.
Up against Dakota Wesleyan it was not a pretty game by any means.
The Chargers scored 11 points in the first half on a safety, a field goal, and a touchdown with a blocked extra point as they lead 11-0 at the break.
Briar Cliff added 10 points in the second half on another field goal and a touchdown pass from Brock Saya to Jayden Westbrook.
The Chargers would hold Dakota Wesleyan to only 7 points all game picking up a win 21-7.
The 4-1 start is just the second time in program history that the Chargers have held that record through 5 games.
The Chargers are back in action when they battle Dordt on October 4th.
