Broadcaster Charissa Thompson has hailed Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, adding she “adores” the reigning NFL MVP.

Since entering the NFL back in 2018, Allen has gone on to become one of the faces of the NFL. While playoff success has evaded the Bills in recent years, the 2024 NFL season saw Allen claim his first league MVP award.

The Bills have started out their 2025 season 3-0, with Allen having helped them spearhead a stunning comeback win in their season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. Despite trailing 40-25 with just minutes left in the fourth, Allen and the Bills mounted a superb comeback, going on to win 41-40.

They followed that up with a routine win over the New York Jets, before defeating the Miami Dolphins on ‘Thursday Night Football,’ last week, which saw Thompson, who was leading Amazon Prime’s coverage of the game, interact with Allen.

The 29-year-old is one of the NFL’s most popular players, and it’s clear he left quite the impression on Thompson.

Speaking on her podcast, ‘Calm Down with Erin and Charissa,’ which she co-hosts alongside fellow reporter and broadcaster Erin Andrews, Thompson hailed the Bills quarterback, claiming the NFL was lucky to have such a good role model as one of the faces of the sport.

In an Instagram preview of the latest episode, Thompson said after telling a story about her swollen lip: “Josh Allen, can I just give Josh Allen a shout out.

“This is the reigning MVP of the league. He is a class. I just adore him. He is everything that the NFL is so lucky to have.”

Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season sees the Bills handed arguably the easiest game on their schedule, with Buffalo set to take on the New Orleans Saints at Highmark Stadium.

The Saints enter the game 0-3 on the year under first-year head coach Kellen Moore, having lost to the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks, the last game of which saw New Orleans down 38-6 at the half.

However, despite this, Allen and Bills head coach Sean McDermott are wary of the challenge the wounded Saints could pose the Bills on Sunday.

“Any sport, you want to see fireworks, right? You want to see the big plays and the long touchdowns and the guys breaking tackles and the guys jumping over people… I love those plays too,” Allen said ahead of the Saints game.

“I love making those plays, but ultimately, I love winning football games more.”

McDermott added: “This last game [against Seattle] got away from [head coach Kellen Moore].

“Overall, the first two games, it’s a one possession game. They’ve got the ball and a chance to win the game.

“You’re seeing them fight until the end and come back from more than one score down, which is hard to do in this league.”
