The Jacksonville Jaguars head to Santa Clara as 3.5-point underdogs this Sunday when they take on the 49ers. The 49ers will get their starting quarterback Brock Purdy back from a toe injury, but their two starting wide receivers, Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall are both questionable, while their starting tight end remains on the PUP list.

Jauan Jennings injury updates

Jennings was unable to play last week with ankle and shoulder injuries. He was unable to practice at all last week, but did manage to get in a limited practice on Friday to be listed questionable.

Fantasy football analysis

Jennings hasn’t been very healthy this season, as he’s played hurt much of the time he’s actually been on the field. But, in Week 2, he was able to at least stay on the field for most of the game and caught 5-of-10 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown.

The Jaguars have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to wide receivers as Ja’Maar Chase and Nico Collins have both had big games against them. But, the analytics paint a different picture, as they are seventh-best in DVOA and sixth-best in EPA per pass attempt allowed.

If he plays, Jennings is worth a start, but he is at risk of re-aggravating one of his injuries. If he can’t go and Pearsall can, then Pearsall becomes a great start as the main receiver.
