SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Bills fans in Central New York got a chance to officially join the ranks of “Bills Mafia” this weekend with a unique baptism ceremony at Harvey’s Garden.

The event took place Sunday during halftime of the Buffalo Bills vs. New Orleans Saints game. It was led by Ryan Frantzis, better known as the “Bills Mafia Pope,” who officiated as new members pledged their loyalty to the team.

Fans of all ages took part — from young children to spouses and friends new to Buffalo football. Inductees were encouraged to sing the Bills’ anthem “Shout” and received free T-shirts to commemorate the occasion. Parents also had the chance to capture a lighthearted photo of their babies “going through a table” — a safe nod to the fanbase’s famous tailgating tradition.

A bubble party kept younger fans entertained before and after the baptisms, adding to the festive game-day atmosphere.

“This is about welcoming new fans into the community, whether they’re fresh babies or someone who just fell in love with the Bills for the first time,” said Michael Greene, owner of Harvey’s Garden. “Bills Mafia is more than football, it’s family, it’s fun, and it’s about celebrating together as a community.”

The event was free to attend and drew longtime fans along with newcomers eager to join the NFL’s most passionate fanbase.
