The New York Giants rode a series of highs on Sunday en route to the team’s first win of the 2025 NFL season, but Brian Daboll’s group wasn’t able to escape a terrible injury blow that could change their entire campaign after the NFC East franchise received the devastating news.

Following the Giants’ big win over Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers it was revealed that star wide receiver Malik Nabers had likely suffered an ACL injury, and that fear has been confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday. Nabers has been ruled out for the rest of the 2025 season and will likely need to undergo surgery to repair his injured knee.

Since being drafted by the Giants in 2024, Nabers has quickly become one of the top wideouts in the entire NFL despite being selected in a loaded draft class that also featured Brian Thomas Jr., Marvin Harrison Jr. and Ladd McConkey.

New York will now need to rely more on its rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, as well as the running game that also includes first-year rusher Cam Skattebo. However, the loss of Nabers cannot be understated after he put up over 1,200 yards and tacked on seven touchdowns during his debut campaign a season ago.
